Jeff Ross pays tribute to longtime pal Gilbert Gottfried

Jeff Ross paid tribute to his “great pal” and “nice dad” Gilbert Gottfried after the legendary comedian died from a genetic muscle disorder at age 67.

“I obtained to say goodbye to Gil final night time,” the “Roastmaster Normal” wrote on Instagram Tuesday. “He went quietly (shocking, I do know) in his sleep from a uncommon muscle illness that’s been bugging him for awhile. He dealt with all of it like a champ – performing till the top.”

Ross took particular notice of Gottfried’s widow, Dara Kravitz, and youngsters Max and Lily.

“No person made me snort so exhausting,” he continued. “He was a beautiful pal and an ideal dad to younger Max and Lily. My coronary heart goes out to Dara who took such nice care of him.”

He ended by remembering two different just lately deceased comics, Norm McDonald — who died of cancer at the age of 61 — final September and Ross’ shut buddy Bob Saget — who died unexpectedly last January at the age of 65.

Gottfried’s rep, told TMZ the comic died from a coronary heart abnormality referred to as ventricular tachycardia brought on by myotonic dystrophy kind II.

The standup comedian’s Twitter account posted information of his dying on Tuesday.

“We’re heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Gilbert Gottfried after an extended sickness,” his household introduced in an announcement. “Along with being probably the most iconic voice in comedy, Gilbert was a beautiful husband, brother, buddy and father to his two younger kids.

“Though as we speak is a tragic day for all of us, please hold laughing as loud as attainable in Gilbert’s honor. Love, the Gottfried household.”
